Year 11 Philosophy and Ethics Conference

Year 11 went to a Philosophy and Ethics Conference on Friday 4 November at Bloomsbury Baptist Church. The GCSE students took part in a series of lectures and spontaneous debate with over 15 schools from Greater London.

Braeside were invited to start the debate on ‘the ethics of genetic engineering for breeding successful children’. Two pupils prepared the opening response to the debate. Dr Peter Vardy (who headlined the debate and lectures) specifically thanked Braeside pupils for their interesting points on the necessity of human suffering. A thoroughly interesting and thought-provoking day was had by all.
