The Code Cracking Cipher Challenge

This term Braeside pupils in Year 6 to 11 will be taking part in an exciting new House competition. Mrs Alahi took an assembly to explain to everyone what they should expect.

The competition is run by The University of Southampton and is called the Cipher Challenge. Pupils have to meet as a House and submit answers and solutions to a range of problem solving questions. As the term goes on, the challenges will begin to get tougher and the way that the codes can be cracked will start to vary.

The Cipher Challenge captains are Amna, Elicia, Karishma and Aneela in Year 11. They are responsible for organising House members and co-ordinating the on-line submission of cracked codes. This is a national competition that awards prizes. The pupils were excited to get code cracking!
