Braeside School Junior School

Junior Department

By this stage our girls are engaged in a well established routine. They are more confident and work closely with their teachers to improve their skills. Having been prepared to a high level they start to accelerate through Key Stage 2 of the National Curriculum and by J4 (9 years of age) will be considerably ahead of where they would be in a state school setting.

All of our pupils enjoy a broad range of educational visits and some unique opportunities as they move through the school.

As part of our continuity and transition process our J6 girls transfer for the final year of their Junior School experience to the Senior School building on the High Road. This opportunity comes at just the right time and allows them to benefit from extra specialised teaching and more subject specific facilities. It readjusts their vision for the future and helps them to aspire towards their GCSE goals. They also thoroughly enjoy becoming part of the more extensive House activities on the Senior site.
