S7 & S8 EnhancementWeek 5th to 9th July
This years enhancement week for S7 and S8 consisted of a variety of educaional visits, workshops and activity days which helped bring the curriculum to life through fun filled activities outside the classroom.
The week began with a visit to London Zoo which included educational sessions but the highlight of the day was, for many, the close encounter with the enchantingly funny Squirrel Monkeys in their open habitat.
On Tuesday S7 spent the day at the BBC Television Centre enjoying a varied programme including interactive experiences, the chance to try out their own TV presentation and visits to the props section, the Blue Peter Garden and dressing rooms
S8 spent the day honing their team building skills outdoors through solving timed logic and maths tasks in groups. They spent the afternoon in a Bollywood Workshop learning dance moves as seen in the popular film 'Slumdog Millionaire', ending with a presentation of their own dance routines.
Wednesday was a school based day for all whcih included a Maths Workshop, a visit to St John's Church, a T-shirt painting workshop for S8 and a science workshop for S7.
On Thursday everyone throughly enjoyed their visit to the Victoria & Albert Museum where the girls participated in theatre workshiops and had lecture tours of the Theatre Gallery, the Jewellery Rooms, the Textile Rooms and the Fashion Gallery.
Finally, on Friday the week concluded with a range of watersport activities at Fairlop Sailing Centre which offered everyone completely new and challenging experiences such as bellboating, canoeing, raft building and sailing, and nobody really minded getting wet given the baking temperatures on that day!
