A combination of the best in traditional and contemporary teaching methods in a full range of subjects can be seen at Braeside. Class sizes are small and some subjects are delivered in half class groups with correspondingly successful grades.

Academic class work is well balanced by activities such as sport, music and drama. A successful P.E. department encourages competition at inter-house, inter-school, district and national levels.

Programmes for citizenship, community service and enhancement activities are well embedded in the school.

Girls are entered for music/speech examinations with individual and group entries at speech and drama festivals, public speaking and debating competitions.

Enhancement programmes for years 7, 8 and 9 take place during the summer term. Day visits are organised to a wide variety of venues and overseas trips are offered in rotation to Senior and Junior year groups. In 2008 S8 & S9 visited Northern France and in October 2009 S11 travelled to Italy to visit Rome and the Amalfi coast.
