Year 4 have recently enjoyed an action packed day at the British Museum. In the morning pupils attended a special talk about Ancient Egyptian mummies, were they found out more about the process of mummification and were able to see some CT scan images showing the insides of some of the museum’s unopened sarcophaguses. In the afternoon they then completed a workshop where they learnt more about the Rosette Stone and how it was decoded. The class used coding software to create their own hieroglyphics to represent the letters in their name. They also programmed special LED signs to then display their names.
