Year 11 Geography pupils carried out their Human Geography fieldwork on Wednesday 13 March. It was very windy, conditions not ideal for conducting work with paper attached to clipboards!
The pupils compared the environments of the markets and areas around Whitechapel and Old Spitalfields. In order to obtain a reasonable sample size for comparison purposes they carried their investigations out at five sites at both locations, starting at the infamous Blind Beggar Pub on Whitechapel High Street. The pupils conducted an Environmental Quality Survey so they could compare both areas, questionnaires to gain people’s opinions of the areas and used their own impressions in order to produce a word cloud for both places.
Year 11 all worked extremely hard to collect their data and everyone had a thoroughly enjoyable day.
