A Trip to See Tutankhamun

Last week Year 4 visited the Saatchi Gallery to visit a special exhibition ‘Tutankhamun: Treasures of the Tomb’. The pupils were very lucky to get to see this exhibition which is only running for a limited time and includes some artefacts that have previously never been out of Egypt.

The exhibition gave the pupils a chance to see lots of the objects found in the tomb close up and to learn more about how the discovery was made. They also learnt more about Ancient Egyptian beliefs to do with death and how to make it through the Netherworld. One of the most exciting artefact they got to see was a huge statue of Tutankhamun which previously stood outside a temple in his honour.
