Infants

In Years 1 and 2 children build on their Foundation Stage skills and follow an exciting and challenging curriculum in which most lessons are taught by the class teacher.  These include English (literacy), Maths (numeracy), Humanities and Science. In addition there are specialist teachers for a number of subjects including French, ICT, PE, Music and Drama.

Our deliberately smaller classes allow the children to benefit from more individual attention for every pupil. The transition from Kindergarten to Year 1 is an exciting time for children and our teachers work together closely to ensure a smooth passage.

The pupils follow a broad and interesting curriculum that reflects the national strategies, with a focus on English, reading and maths skills in the mornings. There are weekly homework activities including reading, spellings and number work.
