Year 9 & 10 Prepare For Their D of E Challenge!

The pupils in Year 9 and 10 who are taking part in the Bronze Duke of Edinburgh award had their practice weekend at Lambourne End. The assessed expedition will take place in June which is sure to come around in no time, so pupils did all they could this weekend to prepare themselves for when the big day arrives.

They took part in various sessions, including putting up tents, learning the country code, planning routes and a menu, scrubbed up on their first aid knowledge, used trangia’s and discussed what they will need to pack. They also went orienteering and practiced map reading in their groups.

Everyone left feeling more confident in their skills and looking forward to taking on the challenge later in the year!
