Braeside School in Buckhurst Hill is celebrating another outstanding set of GCSE results this year. 86% of grades achieved were at A* to C and 31% of all grades were either A* or A.
Once again the pupils achieved particularly well in Sciences with 100% passes in Biology and Chemistry, and 90% in Physics. Half of all grades in the Sciences were at A* or A.
Pupils also achieved around 90% to 100% A* to Cs in other subjects such as Art, Business and Communication Systems, Drama, English Literature and Geography.
Gillian Haddon, outgoing Braeside Headmistress, is delighted with the results; “I’m so pleased that the girls’ hard work preparing for their GCSE exams has produced such an outstanding set of results. Three quarters of our Year 11s achieved 8 or more A* to C grades and there were some excellent individual performances too with Farah, Muskan and Shreena achieving 27 A* or A grades between them.
Against the national trends, most pupils out-performed their targets and with top grades in every subject, I’m very grateful to Braeside’s team of teachers whose dedication and support ensured that their pupils were prepared so thoroughly. Congratulations to all of our pupils. They are well-equipped to move on to the next stages of their education as they move to their choices of sixth form schools and colleges over the next few weeks”.
