Friday 10 February Year 11 attended the GCSE Science LIVE! Conference at the London Apollo Victoria Theatre.
The day was fast-moving, exciting, thought-provoking and gave students the chance to raise issues with the scientists.
The leading scientists that each gave a 30-minute talk included Professor Robert Winston, Professor Andrea Sella and Dr Maggie Aderin-Pocock. These speakers really knew how to share their enthusiasm with the young people and the atmosphere on the day felt intimate, engaging and hugely inspiring. Some of our students were even taking notes in the audience and looking like undergraduates at university.
Each pupil received a booklet with details about each scientist, the lectures and some general articles about studying science and working as scientists – as well as a number of pieces from an experienced chief examiner on success with Science GCSE.
