We had a lovely afternoon on Friday celebrating the year with our annual Speech Day and Prize Giving. A huge marquee was set up in the school grounds and was filled with proud pupils, teachers, family and friends.
This year the guest speaker was Diane Gilson-Butler, a Youth Engagement Officer from the Epping Forest District Council. It was fantastic to hear about her work with the council and how important it is to represent the voice of young people. The speech was especially inspiring as two pupils from Braeside are currently members of the Epping Forest Youth Council.
As well as a large selection of prizes awarded to many deserving pupils, the afternoon was also packed with performances. The Senior Choir sang a fantastic rendition of E Sande’s ‘Read All About It’, there were a selection poems read by the Year 5 LAMDA pupils while the Junior Choir entertained us all with an action packed ‘Yellow Submarine’.
A big well done to everyone who won a prize, but everyone should be very proud of their progress this year!
