Commedia Dell’Arte

Commedia dell’arte is a theatrical form characterized by improvised dialogue and a cast of colorful stock characters that emerged in northern Italy in the fifteenth century and rapidly gained popularity throughout Europe. Year 8 Drama pupils have been studying this form as part of their syllabus and yesterday afternoon took the opportunity to showcase their most recent assessment piece to their parents in the studio. It was a clever and hilarious performance and the pupils acted confidently to an intimate crowd. Well done everyone, we could all see how hard you have been working in class!
