Year 8 have been comparing the effects of healthy and unhealthy lifestyles on your body. They have been finding out how diet and drugs have an impact on the way the human body functions. In the lab the class played the role of police officers investigating a crime scene with an unknown substance. They worked in pairs to use chemical analysis to identify the unknown substance (a suspicious looking white powder).
Using their keen observation skills, they identified patterns in their results and drew the correct conclusion that the unknown sample matched up with our given drug B (which was aspirin). House points were given to the team that not only correctly identified the substance but also managed to tidy up their workstation in record time.
