On Wednesday 31 January pupils had a visit from Diane Gilson-Butler of Epping Forest Youth Council. She came to talk to Years 8, 9 and 10 about how to apply to become a Youth Councillor.
Pupils were given candidate information and nomination forms which they were asked to complete in order to be put forward for election. It was strongly recommended that the pupils take part. Youth Councillors make a difference to their communities and school. They enter debates and discussions and attend council meetings. It is a good opportunity for them to gain more confidence, make new friends and learn about democracy.
