2019 UKMT Junior Maths Challenge

Well done to our Year 7 & 8 pupils representing Braeside School in the UK Maths Trust’s Junior Maths Challenge.

Year 7 – Isabelle, Hazel, Rebecca, Amaani and Inaaya

Year 8 – Naomi, Grace, Emilie, Daisy and Ayra

Joining over 300,000 other pupils across the UK the pupils took part in the challenge on Tuesday 30 April.

The challenge aims to stimulate mathematical thinking and problem solving. It involves answering 25 multiple-choice questions in one hour and is sat at school under normal exam conditions.

The questions are challenging and call on pupils to use existing knowledge to solve problems. The beauty of Maths is there is often more than one way to solve the problem and these questions certainly reward ingenuity.

We will update you with the results as soon as we receive them.
