Christmas Around the World Week – Salt Dough Wreaths

This week is Christmas Around the World Week at Braeside. Throughout the week the pupils have been and will be learning about different Christmas traditions and beliefs in countries around the globe. Year 5 have started with Malta. After learning a little bit about a Maltese Christmas, they made salt dough wreaths which linked with the story of Baby in the Bread, a fascinating story where Mary and Joseph take refuge in the house of a baker.

The pupils made their dough out of flour, salt and water, before adding colour and shaping it into a beautiful wreath which can be used as a Christmas decoration.
