Year 11 went to Poetry Live!, a performance and lecture on the set poems that they study for GCSE. They had the opportunity to listen to Carol Ann Duffy, Simon Armitage, Daljit Nagra from the Love and Relationships cluster of poetry that they study and 4 other poets from the Power and Conflict Cluster. As well as this they heard some much welcomed advice from Tony Childs, a lead examiner for AQA on what they need to do in order to gain the highest possible marks in their essay responses. The pupils were impeccably behaved and a pleasure to take out.
