During Mrs Jermutus’ Metacognition assembly, pupils were encouraged to reflect on their own abilities to plan, monitor and evaluate their own learning. Mrs Jermutus spoke about the art of critical thinking, which is the ability to challenge and evaluate ideas using logic and reason. As a school we discussed the meaning of the phrase ‘fake news’ and how we can apply critical thinking to make better choices and to avoid being manipulated by misinformation that could be spread by social media.
