Year 1 made beautiful Tudor houses for their humanities project over the Easter holidays. They used mixed media like card, paper, straw and paints to make the houses look and feel authentic.
The houses were placed close together like they would have been built in 1666 then a small fire was started in one building just as the Great Fire of London would have began. Year 1 were amazed at how quickly the fire spread through all of the buildings and where surprised how hard it was to put out.
It was a fantastic experiment that really showed what t must have been like in the Tudor times and how unstoppable the fire would have been. Year 1 didn’t even mind sacrificing their projects for such an exciting experiment!
