In April 2022, 10 Braeside Senior students from years 7 & 8 took part in this year’s Junior Maths Challenge, run by the UK Mathematics Trust.
Year 7 – Maya, Sienna and Riana
Year 8 – Talia, Maya, Ava, Sareen, Zaynab, Eliza and Amaya.
This is a national challenge, similar to the Intermediate Maths Challenge and also provides an opportunity for students to think and solve problems. All students take the same paper regardless of age.
The Challenge involves answering 25 multiple-choice questions in one hour and is normally sat at school under normal exam conditions.
A special well done goes to Amaya who achieved ‘Best in School’ and the Silver award, Maya in Year 7, who achieved ‘Best in Year’ and the Bronze award and also Sienna, Rianna and Maya in Year 8 who were awarded the Bronze awards.
All students received a certificate of participation. Congratulations to all who took part!
