Braeside Support Children in Need

On Friday 18 November it was the BBC Children in Need charity day. Once again, Braeside excitedly joined in with others around the United Kingdom to fundraise for this good cause. We are pleased to announce we raised an incredible £646!

The Junior School Council and Year 5 Class ran some exciting events to help raise money. Apart from coming in to school adorned in a splash of yellow to brighten up the gloomy near-winter day, pupils could also take part in challenges and competitions. Many pupils put their pencils, paint brushes, glitter and pom-poms to paper to create fabulous and colourful Pudsey or Blush pictures as part of our colouring competition. The entries lined the corridors; wonderful enough to take down a fashion runway!

During lunch break, the pupils and their soft toys were invited to a scrumptious teddy bear picnic and they took part in a BEAR Pong challenge!

The Year 5’s also saw this as a great opportunity to raise even more money and held a cake sale, filled with sweet treats for every taste.

Well done to all the Junior Councillors and the Year 5’s for raising an amazing amount that will be used to help other children, making their lives a little less daunting and a lot happier.
