This week we are shining the spotlight on Ava, in Year 7, who is one of the UK’s rising tennis stars. Ava sat down with us to talk about her competitions and aspirations for the future.
When did you join Braeside School?
I joined Braeside in Reception, 2015.
What age did start playing tennis?
I started playing tennis at the age of 8.
What is it that you like about tennis?
I love the sport and the atmosphere I’m in when playing tennis.
Do you have any competitions coming up?
I have been ranked number 8 in the UK and have played across the globe. For example, last month I played in a Championships Tournament in Spain.
What training do you have to do?
I normally have to train 4 times a week which is 8 hours. Plus, fitness two times a week and a strict nutritional diet.
Where do you see yourself in 5 years’ time with your tennis?
I see myself as an advanced player at tennis and will be able to use this for great achievements in the future.
