Year 8 Pupils Practice Chinese Lattice Multiplication

The Year 8 pupils embraced Chinese Lattice multiplication in their maths lessons this week. Some preferred this to the traditional long multiplication.

The Lattice method (also referred to as the Chinese method) is very similar to Long Multiplication, but breaks the calculation down into smaller components. A grid is created and then each box is separated into 10’s and 1’s.
