Year 7 walked to Buckhurst Hill Station to make the journey to Holy Trinity Church to meet Rev Abi Todd. They had some quiet reflection in the church before ringing the bells for worship.
Rev Abi explained the significance of worship, Lent and fasting, Stations of the Cross ahead of Easter and how humans and God can achieve atonement. Our group explored the Last Supper in relation to the Eucharist and talked about the Rites of Passage in Christianity as well as the history of the church.
The class discovered that the original church was a tin hut donated from a church in Camden in 1880s before it was the building it is now. Pupils were able to ask questions about the Beatitudes in John and also the parables and their meanings.
