Year 5 took part in a fantastic Ancient Rome workshop last Friday. The class had a visitor from the Epping Forest District Museum who brought in a range of artifacts, some real and some fake. After a brief introduction, each pupil was given a room in a Roman villa where they would ‘work’ for the rest of the session. After working out what their room was, they were given the artifacts to explore. It was very tricky trying to work out what the tools and pots were used for, but the class were eager to discuss ideas with each other!
It was a great workshop where everyone learnt a lot about the life and work of Ancient Romans, and how we can still see traces of their life around the UK today.
