Year 7 SES Water Trip

Year 7 visited SES Water in Bough Beech near the River Eden in Kent.

They travelled by coach to the water treatment centre to learn about the water cycle, different rock types and how water is cleaned ready for use.

The day included engineering, science, geology, geography and sustainability. Pupils visited a reservoir, learned about the transportation of water, the chemical and mechanical engineering that goes into water treatment and how they can be mindful of water use.

Year 7 had an outdoor experience, went underground, went behind the scenes and were also in a classroom. The day was full of experiences and information. It was especially interesting to hear about the different jobs you can do associated with water ahead of careers week!
