International Women’s Day with Dr Alice Roberts

Year 10 pupils were chosen to attend an exclusive talk by Dr Alice Roberts.

Dr Roberts hosts science programmes for the BBC, has written books about medicine and history and still lectures in medicine at university.

She focused her talk on her new book about the origins of life. The lecture was full of interesting discoveries about biology in terms of cell structures, embryology, evolution of animals and theories that have changed from the times of Aristotle.

Year 10 said that they felt privileged to have been chosen to attend the lecture as it was something they knew was special to supporting them in their sixth form applications in the future.
